Empowered by Friends

As a middle-aged woman, I can look back and see how wonderfully good my life has been, in spite of my heartaches. Everyone has pain, everyone has challenges, no one escapes that if you live long enough. BUT, I have been helped, aided, guided, propped up emotionally, pulled to my feet, jolted to reality, prayed for, loved by and supported by my girlfriends. God knew that as women, some men in our lives would come and go, but our women friends, our sisters, our girlfriends, our mothers and grandmothers would be a silent threat to the difficult times that seek to engulf us and a wonderful surge of sweet strength when we need it the most. When we find ourselves in a pit of despair, God brings one or more just at that moment to surround us, to hug us and to love us with words, cards or maybe with that special treat - ice cream! The Bible says "A friend loveth at all times." Mine certainly have. Thank God for my friends.
